Betsy Mueller is an American visual effects artist who was a technical lighting director for Industrial Light & Magic on 2009's Star Trek.

Mueller holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Principia College in Elsah, Illinois, where she majored in Studio Art with a focus on Graphic Design. She then studied traditional animated at the Associates in Art school in Sherman Oaks, California, and the American Animation Institute in Burbank, California.

From 2004 through 2006, Mueller was the Lead Lighting/Compositing Artist at the Dallas, Texas-based effects company Reel FX, where she worked on such animated films as The Wild (which featured the voice of William Shatner) and Everyone's Hero (which featured the voice of Whoopi Goldberg). She also worked on direct-to-video projects such as the G.I. Joe movies Valor vs. Venom and Ninja Battles.

Later in 2006, Mueller worked as a Key Lighting Technical Director/Compositing Artist on the hit 2006 animated film Happy Feet at the Sydney, Australia-based studio Animal Logic. In February 2007, she joined The Orphanage in San Francisco, California, where she worked as a Lighting Technical Director on the film Live Free or Die Hard (in which Tim Russ appeared). She again worked with The Orphanage as Lighting Technical Director on Iron Man (2008, featuring Bill Smitrovich and Faran Tahir).
