Beta Lyrae is the primary of the Beta Lyrae system, located 142° NE of the galactic plane. Beta Lyrae was known as one of the rare beautiful spectacles of the galaxy and almost every starship that passed by stop to see it. Beta Lyrae was located between Kzin and Starbase 25. (TAS: "The Slaver Weapon") The location of Beta Lyrae was also depicted on a Federation star chart. It was located near Pyris VII (TNG: "Conspiracy")

HistoryEdit

In 2269, the shuttlecraft Copernicus of the USS Enterprise was transporting a Slaver stasis box to Starbase 25 and passed by Beta Lyrae. Kzinti privateers lured the shuttle to a small ice-bound planet located in the star system, using another stasis box as bait. (TAS: "The Slaver Weapon")
