Beta Canopus is a planet which is a natural source of strobolin, a pharmaceutical used to treat chroiocytosis in Vulcans. The starship Potemkin visited Beta Canopus in 2270 to obtain strobolin in order to be shipped to the Enterprise by way of the freighter Huron. (TAS:"The Pirates of Orion")
