The Beloti sector is a region of space near the Federation and Cardassian borders containing the Mericor system. The area was the site of fighting during the war between the two powers in the 2350s, and several gravitic mines were left behind, still armed. In 2368, the USS Denver struck one of the mines, and required rescue by the USS Enterprise-D. (TNG: "Ethics")
