Beer

A beer or ale is any alcoholic beverage produced by the fermentation of starches, which are not distilled afterwards. The production of beer and some other alcoholic beverages is often called brewing.

In 1986, time traveler James T. Kirk tried a beer at a San Francisco area pizza restaurant. It was a Michelob. (Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home)

In 2151, Jonathan Archer, Charles Tucker III, and Malcolm Reed toasted the successful installation of Enterprise NX-01's phase cannons with a round of beers. {ENT:"Silent Enemy")

In 2365, the Enterprise-D rescued a group of human colonists from Bringloid V when endangered by solar flares. These colonists had reverted to a rural, pre-industrial form of living. Once on board the Enterprise, the Bringloidi tried making their own beer, which failed when the fire they started to begin the process activated the ship's fire supression system and put the fire out. Thanks to Lt. Worf, the Bringloidi discovered that the replicators could make real alcoholic beverages, especially Klingon drinks that were much more potent than human drinks. (TNG:"Up the Long Ladder)"

On Deep Space 9, Miles O'Brien and Julian Bashir also enjoyed having beer together, especially after one of their holosuite adventures or playing a game of darts.
