The Batris was a Talarian freighter that was in service in the mid-24th century.

In 2364, the Batris was commandeered by three renegade Klingons led by Commander Korris. The ship was tracked down in the Neutral Zone by the cruiser IKS T'Acog. After a brief battle, the renegades agreed to surrender, but when the T'Acog dropped its shields they opened fire with the merculite rockets that comprised the Batris' armament. The T'Acog was destroyed, but the Batris was heavily damaged.

Alerted to the battle, Starfleet requested the USS Enterprise-D to investigate the incident. Upon arriving at the battle site, an away team from the Enterprise successfully rescued the three Klingons seconds before the Batris self-destructed. (TNG: "Heart of Glory")

For more information on this studio model, see TNG studio models.
The Star Trek Encyclopedia (4th ed., vol. 1, p. 31) speculated that the Talarian freighter design was an Antares-class cargo carrier.
