Vic's Lounge, Las Vegas

Vic's lounge

Bashir 62 was a holosuite program given to Julian Bashir by his friend Felix. The main character was holodeck character Vic Fontaine who owned a lounge in 1961 Las Vegas, Nevada. (DS9: "His Way")

After getting his new leg in 2375, Nog lived in Vic's lounge for a little while to cope with this dramatic change. Thus the program was running constantly and Vic got used to living his life out. When Nog finally left the holosuite to get on with his life, he made arrangements with Quark to leave the Bashir 62 program running 26/7 as a thank you to Vic. (DS9: "It's Only a Paper Moon")

Later in 2375, the program was drastically changed when gangsters took over Vic's lounge due to a jack-in-the-box created by Felix to "add some spice to the story". The program was reset to its previous state when Bashir, Miles O'Brien, Kira, Odo, Nog, Ezri Dax, Kasidy Yates, and Benjamin Sisko banded together to put the gangsters out of business. (DS9: "Badda-Bing, Badda-Bang")

Although never formally named, the program received this name in "It's Only a Paper Moon". The name appears to be derived from the year in which the program takes place: 1962.
