It is the most religious of the religions on Star Trek. It is also the only true religion according to most Bajorans. Unfortunately, the Bajoran faith has been in decline for many years, and current estimates show that two thirds of Bajorans identify themselves as "secular" Bajorans. The [[Orthodox]] Bajorans, led by [[Kai]] [[Winn Adami]], have long been the defenders of the faith against such heretics as [[Bareil Antos]] and [[Kira Nerys]], notorious for the blaspheming they committed while at a monestary on Bajor. The Bajoran religion is centered around the Prophets, the Bajoran name for the aliens who reside in the Bajoran wormhole, which the Bajorans believe is the Celestial Temple.
The word of the Prophets has guided Bajor for tens of thousands of years, and over the years, nine orbs, or "tears of the Prophets," have emerged from the wormhole. The spiritual leader of Bajor is the Kai. (DS9: "Emissary")
