The Azati Prime system containing the planet Azati Prime was a Delphic Expanse system. Its primary was a red giant located at coordinates 1127.4 by 4052 by 3901.1. The system also contained at least two more planets and at least two moons, as well as at least one planetoid.

As of 2154 considerable activity existed around two of the inner planets, numerous ships, all Xindi. One of these inner planets was Azati Prime. Further out the system also contained a planetoid, with a moon that contained a monitoring station. The station was one of several lunar outposts in the system, and was destroyed in early 2154.

A large array of thousands of artificial satellites that created a detection grid and security net was deployed in the system, protecting Azati Prime. It was extremely sensitive and had no weaknesses. If one of the satellites was destroyed or disabled, the other satellites filled up the gap. (ENT: "Azati Prime")

Romulan Neutral Zone star chart, 2259

On a star chart in 2259

In 2259, the location of this system was labeled on a stellar cartography chart that was seen on the USS Enterprise's ready room viewscreen. This system's symbol had a blue color, indicating that it was affiliated with the United Federation of Planets. (SNW: "Strange New Worlds", "Spock Amok", "A Quality of Mercy")

The system's location was labeled in a Federation star chart that was in Fleet Admiral Kirsten Clancy's office at Starfleet Headquarters in 2399 and on the bridge of the USS Titan-A in 2401. The Azati Prime system was in or near to Federation space. (PIC: "Maps and Legends", "The Next Generation", "Disengage")

In 2401, this system's position was labeled on a star chart used by Captain William T. Riker during his attempt at finding the last known location of the SS Eleos XII. (PIC: "The Next Generation")

The name of this system came from the source material used, the Stellar Cartography: The Starfleet Reference Library, to create the star chart seen in Star Trek: Picard.
The exact layout of the system wasn't explained. The schematic seen on this page shows the detection grid, which apparently encompassed four planets. However, the planetoid Enterprise hid behind was apparently outside of the grid, so the total number of planets is unknown. Furthermore, ships traversing the grid were seen with Azati Prime very near in the background, suggesting that in spite of its name it was the fourth rather then first of the planets in the schematic. One solution might be that the graphic does not depict the system but Azati Prime and four moons, surrounded by a grid encompassing only them. However, in that case it seems peculiar that a predominantly blue world would be shown in red. A further peculiarity in the episode is the very sudden appearance of a moon in a way that suggests the writers might have interchanged the words "planetoid" and "moon".
