Avignon was an Earth city located in the south of France.

Within the holodeck of the USS Voyager, Captain Kathryn Janeway, in her guise as "Catarina", attempted to persuade Leonardo da Vinci to return to Europe with her as cities like Avignon required his genius, as did she. Da Vinci agreed to leave not for Avignon or the others but for Catarina. (VOY: "Concerning Flight")

The bridge at Avignon was the subject of the French song Sur le pont d'Avignon. (TNG: "Chain of Command, Part II")
