An autonomic functions scan was a Starfleet medical procedure regularly run in the 24th century.
The large biofunction monitor in sickbay aboard the USS Enterprise-D featured an interface for autonomic functions scans. (TNG: "Suspicions")
The scan was not mentioned in dialog but was seen on the large bio-monitor in sickbay.
