An automatic transmission station was an automated communications device set up in the Life Prolongation Project complex on Miri's homeworld. The transmission station was set up sent broadcast an SOS signal, and remained online from the 1960s until its message was finally received by the USS Enterprise in 2266. (TOS: "Miri")
