Atlanta was a city located in Georgia, a state in the southeastern US.
During the American Civil War, General William T. Sherman lead a destructive march on Atlanta in 1864. (VOY: "Death Wish")
During the 20th century it was the host city of the baseball team known as the Atlanta Braves and the football team the Atlanta Falcons. (TNG: "The Neutral Zone"; Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home)
In an alternate timeline in which Nazi Germany had invaded the United States, as of 1944 Atlanta was controlled by American forces. Assets of these forces were located in or near Atlanta, prior to their movement east to South Carolina. (ENT: "Storm Front", "Storm Front, Part II")
In the mid-22nd century, Sergeant N. Kemper was stationed outside of Atlanta before being posted to Enterprise NX-01. Up until Sgt. Kemper's departure from Atlanta in 2153, there were also no Denobulans in the city. (ENT: "The Xindi")
