Template:Realworld Arthur H. Singer (16 February 1910 – March 1978; age 68) wrote the teleplay for the final episode of the original Star Trek series, "Turnabout Intruder", based on a story by Gene Roddenberry. He was the Story Consultant for TOS during season three, replacing D.C. Fontana, who left after the second season. He was brought in by producer Fred Freiberger, who worked with Singer on other projects before. (Inside Star Trek: The Real Story, p. 393)
Fontana once remarked, that Singer "wandered onto the set and asked our set decorator, "By the way, what does that transporter thing do again?", at which point most of the crew gave up caring".[1] According to Robert Justman, Singer was bright and hardworking, but neither he or Freiberger did understand the Star Trek concept, and the resulting episodes suffered. Singer wrote one episode for the short-lived series Then Came Bronson, which was produced by fellow TOS writer Robert Sabaroff, and Bob Justman. The episode was directed by Jud Taylor.
