Archanis was the primary of the Archanis system, which was located in the Archanis sector. The Federation-Klingon border was in close proximity to this system.
In 2267, on stardate 3046, USS Enterprise helmsman Hikaru Sulu used Archanis as a reference point to plot the location of the Enterprise after it was flung five hundred parsecs by the Metrons. (TOS: "Arena")
According to Startrek.com, the Archanis sector was adjacent to the Bajor sector, which was located in the Alpha Quadrant. [1]
According to the script for "Nor the Battle to the Strong", an alternate spelling for this star was Arcanis. [2]
