The antiproton injector was a component of the antiproton injection subsystem. This subsystem was part of a starship's warp core. The injectors precisely compressed and streamed antiprotons into the form which entered the dilithium regulation chamber. In the case of an emergency, the flow of these particles to the injectors could be shut off by antiproton injection seals. (TNG: "Contagion", display graphic)
