Antede III was the inhabited third planet of the Antede system. This planet was the homeworld for the Antedeans, a warp capable species. It was located within three days travel of the planet Pacifica, and some of the inhabitants had antagonistic feelings for the Federation.
In 2365, the USS Enterprise-D was assigned to carry two delegates from Antede III to a conference on Pacifica, where their species would be offered Federation membership. The delegates turned out to be assassins. (TNG: "Manhunt")
According to the script for this episode, the name of this planet was pronounced "an-TEE-DEE." [1]
The planet model for Antede III was first used for Delphi Ardu IV ("The Last Outpost"). In that episode, and for that episode only, the model had a blue color. It would be used again for Selay ("Lonely Among Us") and Persephone V ("Too Short a Season"), and would later be used for Krios ("The Perfect Mate").
