Angosia III was the inhabited third planet of the Angosia system. There were at least five moons, including Lunar V, associated with this planet. This was the homeworld of the Angosians, a warp capable humanoid species.
In 2366, the Angosian government petitioned for membership in the Federation, and the USS Enterprise-D was dispatched to conduct a follow-up visit. During this visit, it was learned that the Angosian government unduly held Tarsian War veterans as prisoners on one of Angosia's moons, Lunar V. Federation membership was postponed. Angosia III appeared in the starchart Data and Picard were studying in stellar cartography in 2371. (Star Trek Generations display graphic)
According to the script for this episode, the pronunciation for Angosia was "ang-GO-sha". [1]
According to the Star Trek: Star Charts, on the chart United Federation of Planets I, Angosia III was listed as a member planet of the Federation in 2378.
