Andrews served as Security personnel on the USS Voyager while it was still in the Alpha Quadrant. It is unknown if he survived the Caretakers relocation of the ship to the Delta Quadrant. He was on the bridge before Voyager entered the Badlands in pursuit of Chakotay's Maquis ship in 2371. He held the rank of Lieutenant.
In an alternate timeline, Chakotay incapacitated Andrews while kidnapping Captain Janeway. (VOY:"Shattered")
