Anarchy is the absence of political governance. While social theories of anarchy hold that it would result in societal harmony, the term is often used as a slang meaning disordered social chaos.

- It is unknown if this was meant to imply that they were chaotic or if they had a societal harmony, which in this case would have to be overlapped with a competitive warrior culture. The former may be more likely as Star Trek writers have traditionally used the term in its common representation.
