Anara was a Bajoran engineer assigned aboard Deep Space 9 in 2369.

She assisted Chief Miles O'Brien in repairing the station systems and subsequently in dealing with a living software program from the Gamma Quadrant, nicknamed "Pup", that had infiltrated the station computers. (DS9: "The Forsaken")

Anara was played by Benita Andre.
In the Deep Space Nine Companion, Robert Hewitt Wolfe notes that Anara was intended to be the character that attempts to assassinate Bareil Antos in "In the Hands of the Prophets". However, this idea was dropped and the character of Neela was created instead.
Anara had a card in the Star Trek CCG Second Edition pack which suggested her tour as a junior officer was a training detail, and that she was rotated to duty rebuilding Bajor after her time being O'Brien's "apprentice".
