Amy Vatanakul is a character animator, texture artist, and previsualization artist who worked for J.J. Abrams' Bad Robot Productions on Star Trek.

Vatanakul earned her Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art from the University of California in Irvine in 2005. She attended the Gnomon School of Visual Effects until July 2007 and worked as a freelance animator and visual effects artist on the projects Arthur's Asteroids (2007) and Luck of the Draw (2007). After her assignment as lab monitor at the Gnomon School of Visual Effects, she joined Bad Robot Productions in September 2007.
