Captain Amasov was a 24th century Starfleet officer, who served as the commanding officer of the USS Endeavor in the 2360s. Amasov once said, "It is my opinon that the Borg are as close to pure evil than any race we've ever encountered."

When studying up on the Borg in late 2373, Captain Janeway researched Captain Amasov's and Captain Picard's logs of encounters with them. (VOY: "Scorpion, Part I")
