Alpha Majoris I was the homeworld of the mellitus. It was the first planet of the Alpha Majoris system. This system was located in the Alpha Quadrant. (TOS: "Wolf in the Fold"; Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country, production art)

In "The Explored Galaxy" star chart, Alpha Majoris was located between the Tholian Assembly and Romulus. Both were identified in DS9: "Call to Arms" as being located in the Alpha Quadrant.

According to the Star Trek: Star Charts (page 47), Alpha Majoris I was located in or near Federation space, in the Alpha Quadrant.
