Alien abduction was the action of being taken without consent by aliens from one's home planet.

In 19th century, Humans were abducted from Earth by the Skagarans. Several thousand Humans were taken from America's western rocky desert regions with their horses to work as slaves to help the Skagarans start a colony on a planet in the Delphic Expanse. In 2153, Enterprise NX-01 discovered the planet and the descendants of the abductees who had overthrown their Skagaran masters. (ENT: "North Star")

In 1937, the Briori from the Delta Quadrant also abducted over three hundred Humans from Earth, including the famous female pilot Amelia Earhart, to be used as slaves. The slaves later revolted and overthrew the Briori, establishing their own community on the planet. In 2371, the USS Voyager discovered some of the abductees in suspended animation and their descendants. (VOY: "The 37's")

In 2151, Subcommander T'Pol stated alien abduction conspiracies had been present on Earth "for centuries." She suggested that taking an Akaali up to Enterprise NX-01 might spawn a similar conspiracy on the Akaali homeworld. (ENT: "Civilization")
