The Aldebaron colony was a Federation colony.
Doctor Elizabeth Dehner had been posted on Aldebaron to complete her thesis for the College of Medical Sciences of the Tri-Planetary Academy on the subject of participation in testing and study of beings that harness psionic energy.
She joined the crew of the USS Enterprise when it stopped at the colony in 2265.(TOS: "Where No Man Has Gone Before")
The spelling Aldebaron was used in the personnel file medical records shown on Enterprise viewscreens and in the script. The spelling was also used in "Past Tense, Part I", for Aldebaron III, which might be the location of the colony or in the same system. The name is very similar to the name of the star Aldebaran.
