The Aldeans are a civilisation native to the Alpha Quadrant. Their homeworld is the once mythical planet of Aldea.
The Aldeans suffered long-term chromosomal damage from radiation exposure when their cloaking device that surrounded their homeworld caused a breakdown in the planet's ozone layer. (TNG: "When the Bough Breaks")
