The Aksani were a warp-capable race native to the Delta Quadrant and shared their territory with Antarians and the Chessu.
In 2377 the Aksani participated in the inaugural Trans-stellar Rally. The Aksani threatened to withdraw unless they were allowed to host the post-race ceremony, but the Chessu insisted upon that honor themselves and were permitted to retain the agreement. This put the race co-ordinator O'Zaal in an awkward position until Kathryn Janeway devised a suitable and diplomatic compromise for all parties involved. (VOY: "Drive")
