Background
Following a series of lawsuits, started in 2003, between Activision and Viacom, Paramount Pictures' parent company, Activison dropped the license to produce games based on the Star Trek universe. The company has been quoted as stating that it had no plans to produce further Star Trek games in the foreseeable future for the Playstation 3 or Xbox 360.
