ADR looping was a mission type conducted by exploratory vessels during the early 22nd century.
The SS Seattle, under the command of Wendy Neuss, departed from Earth in order to conduct an ADR looping mission in the vicinity of the Ficus sector in 2120. (TNG: "Up The Long Ladder" display graphic)
It is of note that the term "ADR looping" is also used in the filmmaking industry. "ADR" (aka "automated dialog replacement"/"additional dialog recording") is the technical name for "looping", the process of re-recording dialog following photography. For more information, see dubbing.
