A-koo-chee-moya was a Native American term used by Commander Chakotay at the beginning of his rituals and vision quests. He would say it whenever he sought contact with his animal guide, contacted the spirit of his father or performed the Pakra. Captain Kathryn Janeway once spoke this sentence when their journey through the Delta Quadrant had just started and she asked the spirits to embrace her crew. (VOY: "The Cloud", "Initiations", "Basics, Part I", "Mortal Coil", "Waking Moments")

..."A-koo-chee-moya. We are far from the sacred places of our grandfathers, and from the bones of our people, but perhaps there is one powerful being who will embrace this good crew and give them the answer they seek.":
