According to the Star Trek Chronology and StarTrek.com, Star Trek: The Motion Picture takes place during this year. [1] This contradicts information from "Q2" and the film placing it around early 2273 (at least "two-and-a-half years" after 2270). With that in mind, the refit of the Enterprise would have begun at the San Francisco Shipyards during this year.
