• The Warp Five Complex is officially opened by Zefram Cochrane as part of the NX Program. (ENT: "Broken Bow") Some time after this, Cochrane leaves the Alpha Centauri colony for an unknown destination. He is later presumed dead, but is discovered in 2267 by the USS Enterprise on a planetoid in the Gamma Canaris region. (TOS: "Metamorphosis", ENT: "Future Tense")
• The Earth survey ship SS Tomobiki is launched. (TNG: "Up The Long Ladder")
• The first of a series of Earth ships mysteriously disappears in an uncharted sector of space. Over the next 150 years the Federation, Klingon and Romulan Empires would continue to experience disappearances, on a frequency of precisely every 27.346 star-years. (TAS: "The Lorelei Signal")
