• According to Julian Bashir, both Starfleet and Section 31 exist by this point. This, however, is contradicted by Jonathan Archer's statement that he considered joining the Earth Cargo Service a few years before Starfleet was chartered, meaning that Starfleet was chartered sometime between 2112 and 2143. Ronald D. Moore himself noted that Bashir's "300 year" figure was a mistake, and it was corrected on the DVD release. (DS9: "Inquisition")
